<p>In this action, the Department of Energy (DOE) is re-evaluating the testing and analysis conducted in the rulemakings to establish separate short-cycle product classes for residential dishwashers, residential clothes washers, and consumer clothes dryers.&nbsp; DOE is also considering whether an alternate approach to addressing residential dishwashers, residential clothes washers, and consumer clothes dryers with shorter cycle times would be more appropriate than establishing separate product classes for such products. This rule is being reconsidered as required under E.O. 13990, "Protecting Public health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis," 86 FR 7037 (January 25, 2021).</p>
