EPA has been evaluating whether to add six phthalates (diisobutyl phthalate [DIBP], butyl benzyl phthalate [BBP], di-n-pentyl phthalate [DnPP], di-n-octyl phthalate [DnOP], diisononyl phthalate [DINP], and diisodecyl phthalate [DIDP]) to the list of chemicals reportable under section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (i.e., the Toxics Release Inventory). However, due to a change in regulatory priorities, EPA is not pursuing the addition of any phthalates to the Toxics Release Inventory at this time. EPA continues to have concerns for the toxic effects of phthalates and may reconsider this action in the future.
