<ABSTRACT>

This action seeks to make regulatory amendments and various updates and clarifications mainly in 40 CFR parts 264/265/270 to codify established policies, reflect current information or standards, improve understanding and compliance with the regulations and make technical corrections and other conforming changes to address inadvertent errors and remove obsolete references. Such amendments being considered include updating 40 CFR 264.94 to reflect current maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) established pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act for groundwater protection standards under RCRA. Another consideration includes amending Appendix VI in 40 CFR part 264 to update the list of political jurisdictions required to consider seismic activity pursuant to location standards. Other proposed changes could include updates and clarifications to the organic air emissions standards in 40 CFR parts AA, BB, and CC, financial assurance standards in 40 CFR part 264/265 subpart H, and the preparedness and prevention standards in 40 CFR parts 264/265 subpart C.
