<RULE_TITLE>Standards of Performance for Grain Elevators</RULE_TITLE>
        <ABSTRACT>

The New Source Performance Standard for Grain Elevators was promulgated in 1978 with the latest amendments made in 1984. Since that time there have been a number of changes in the technology used for storing and loading/unloading grain at elevators. The rule has seen increased activity of late, due to the increase in ethanol production that has led to bumper crops of corn being grown, which, in turn, has led to a need for increased grain storage. For these reasons a review and potential revision may be necessary to ensure the appropriate standards are being applied consistently throughout the industry.
