Since updating its data requirements for the registration of conventional, microbial, and biochemical pesticides in October 2007, and for antimicrobial pesticides in May 2013, EPA has identified the need to make some technical revisions to make corrections or necessary editorial changes to the test notes. This rulemaking is intended to improve clarity and reduce the frequency of inquiries or confusion related to a few technical aspects of the regulations. In particular, EPA is considering several editorial and technical changes, including, for example: (1) the correction of scientific units used in the test notes; (2) clarification of information on appropriate test species cited in the test notes; and (3) correction of incomplete test notes. EPA does not intend for this rulemaking to include any changes that would increase the burden because the changes being considered do not involve requiring new data, or changing the frequency with which the existing data are required.
