This rulemaking would revise the Department's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations relating to over-the-road buses (OTRBs). The DOT is required by its regulations to review various requirements within the ADA regulations for OTRB operators. On February 27, 2013, DOT published a notice seeking comment to help DOT conduct this review. This rulemaking would update and revise regulations relating to the purchase and lease requirements of new OTRBs, fleet accessibility requirements, interline service requirements, special provisions for mixed-service operators, and interim service requirements.
