Section 511 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 (Pub. L. 118-63, May 16, 2024) (2024 FAA Reauthorization) requires the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) to initiate a rulemaking to revise the Department’s regulations addressing the categories of the causes of delay and cancellation the largest U.S. airlines must use when they report data to BTS monthly for each of their domestic scheduled flights.
