This rule would amend the Transportation Acquisition Regulation (TAR) to provide needed editorial changes to align the TAR with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). DOT would make required revisions to the TAR based on FAR Case 2022-006, Federal Acquisition Regulation: Sustainable Procurement, that were effective May 22, 2024. This updates the title of TAR part 1223, as well as titles and numbering of subparts, updated references to the FAR or TAR in other parts, renumbering of provisions or clauses, and movement of some TAR sections to other TAR parts to realign with the final revisions made to the FAR.
