A new Subchapter K was introduced for small passenger vessels carrying more than 150 passengers or more than 49 overnight passengers. Seven public hearings were held throughout the country and the comment period closed June 13, 1994. An Interim Final Rule (IFR) will be published adopting many of the solutions suggested in the comments.
