<ABSTRACT>

This rulemaking would revise Special Federal Aviation Regulation No. 73-Robinson R-22/44 Special Training and Experience Requirements (SFAR No. 73). These changes would align the SFAR with current aircraft placard requirements and the limitations section of the Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM) set forth by Airworthiness Directives (ADs). In addition, this rulemaking would propose updates to the SFAR so it mirrors the terminology currently used in the Helicopter Flying Handbook and Practical Test Standards. These changes would support enhanced alignment between the training requirements of SFAR No. 73 and pilot testing standards.
