<p>This advanced notice of proposed rulemaking seeks comment on the current downpayment and minimum cash investment requirements for FHA&rsquo;s Title II forward mortgages. Specifically, HUD will seek comment on the use of downpayment assistance from a source other than a family member, including from tribal providers, state housing finance agencies, local housing finance agencies, entities acting in a governmental capacity and non-profit organizations in satisfying the statutorily required minimum investment and as a source of any additional funds needed to close the insured mortgage transaction. HUD also intends to seek comment on the use of downpayment assistance or secondary financing generally.</p>
