This rule proposes to amend the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards (MHCSS) and associated manufactured housing program regulations by aligning the MHCSS with recent rulemaking from the Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Conservation Standards for Manufactured Housing (10 CFR part 460). HUD also solicited recommendations from the Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC) regarding the alignment of the MHCSS with the DOE-developed standards. All MHCC meetings are open to the public and solicit public testimony on all matters considered.
