A final rule required by sections 731 and 764 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, was jointly issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Farm Credit Administration, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (collectively, the "Agencies"). That final rule (joint final rule) establishes capital and margin requirements on swap dealers, major swap participants, security-based swap dealers, and major security-based swap participants for which one of the Agencies is a prudential regulator. In response to an amended statutory mandate, the Agencies also jointly issued an interim final rule with request for comment, published simultaneously with the joint final rule, to implement certain exemptions and exceptions to the joint final rule. This final rulemaking will adopt the interim final rule.
