The proposed rule would repeal certain regulations of the former Federal Housing Finance Board that are outdated or have become unnecessary.  The proposal would repeal a series of definitions, currently located at 12 CFR part 900, which are no longer needed because FHFA has adopted a set of similar definitions as part of its regulations, and because certain of those definitions pertain only to the Federal Housing Finance Board, which no longer exists.  The proposed rule would also repeal a provision, 12 CFR part 906, which describes how the agency conducts a monthly interest rate survey, which provision has become outdated because it no longer accurately describes the methodology used to conduct the survey, and which is not needed because FHFA is required by statute to conduct the survey.
