<RULE_TITLE>NASA FAR Supplement: Remove NFS Clause 1852.227-17, Right in Data-Special Works</RULE_TITLE>

NASA is issuing a direct final rule to amend the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS) to remove NFS clause 1852.227-17-71, Right in Data-Special Works. The NFS clause adds paragraph (f) to FAR 52.227-17, "Rights in Data-Special Works," that states, "Whenever the words "establish" and "establishment" are used in this clause, with the reference to a claim to copyright, they shall be construed to mean "assert" and "assertion, respectively." NFS clause 1852.227-17 has served its original purpose and rendered obsolete by the current version of the FAR 52.227-17.
