2900-AS77 202510 The Regulatory Plan and the Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions 2900 Department of Veterans Affairs VA Expanding Beneficiary Travel for Transplant Recipients and Other Conforming Changes

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to revise its beneficiary travel regulations.  These revisions will expand eligibility for beneficiary travel for veteran transplant recipients who are referred to a VA or VA-authorized Transplant Center; extend from 30 to 180 days the deadline to submit a claim; prohibit balance billing against veterans in cases where VA pays for special modes of transportation; and otherwise conform the regulations to current statutory authorities.  These changes will financially support veterans who need transplants.
