The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to amend its regulations governing the Veteran Readiness and Employment Program that pertain to independent living to allow for additional extensions when the Independent Living Plan includes a housing adaption. Extension of independent living services will be determined on a case-by-case based and limited to the length of time reasonably necessary to complete housing adaptation services identified in the Veteran’s Individualized Independent Living Plan.
