<![CDATA[Section 103 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110-314 (August 14, 2008), mandates "distinguishing marks" on all children's products and their packaging to enable the manufacturer and the ultimate purchaser to ascertain certain source and product information. On July 20, 2009, the Commission posted a statement of policy on its website regarding the interpretation and enforcement of section 103(a) of the CPSIA. The Commission is considering issuing a rule based on this guidance. In addition, as authorized under Public Law 112-28, the Commission could consider issuing a regulation excluding a specific product or class of products from the tracking label requirements if the Commission determines that it is not practicable for the product or class of products to bear the required marks.]]>
