On December 20, 2016, the Commission voted to approve publication of a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in the Federal Register to update the Commission’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) rule at 16 CFR part 1015 to conform to the amendments of the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016. The NPRM was published on January 3, 2017. The comment period ended on March 20, 2017. Following review of the comments, staff will prepare a final rule for Commission consideration.
