This rule would provide general information to the public about AmeriCorps' structure and purpose and include descriptions of its central and field organization as required by 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(1)(A). While AmeriCorps already provides information about its organizational structure on its website, this rule would comply with the statutory requirement specifically requiring agencies to "publish in the Federal Register" their descriptions of organization. This rule will also increase transparency in AmeriCorps’ operations by providing an overview of AmeriCorps programs in a manner that sets out a roadmap to its already existing program-specific regulations.
