The General Services Administration is proposing a direct final rule to remove part 84 and place in reserve the part number.  Part 84 contains ambiguous and outdated language regarding reporting requirements as well as references to systems and forms that are no longer used by agencies or GSA.  Moreover, The Federal Assets Sales and Transfer Act of 2016 and the Federal Property Management Reform Act of 2016 require executive agencies to annually report real property data to the General Services Administration. Therefore part 84 is unnecessary.
