<RULE_TITLE>Federal Travel Regulation (FTR); FTR Case 2022-02, Relocation Allowance--Temporary Quarters Subsistence Expenses (TQSE)</RULE_TITLE>
        <ABSTRACT>

The General Services Administration (GSA) is amending the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) by implementing a third methodology for reimbursing temporary quarters subsistence expenses (TQSE) allowance and redefining the current methods of reimbursing TQSE. The final rule clarifies that TQSE percentage multipliers are not to be adjusted for house hunting days. The rule also lists an exception to the "reasonable proximity” requirement for temporary quarters locations located in Presidentially-Declared Disaster areas, and permits agencies to authorize rates other than the standard Continental United States rate as the applicable per diem rate for TQSE reimbursements. The rule also updates and clarifies TQSE sections and rearranges them into a more sequential order.
