The U.S. General Services Administration is amending subpart C of 102-76 of the Federal Management Regulation regarding real property design and construction to adopt the new accessibility guidelines the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board issued in a final rule that became effective on September 7, 2023.  That final rule provides minimum guidelines for the accessibility of pedestrian facilities in the public right-of-way (36 CFR 1190).  These guidelines, once adopted, would ensure that facilities used by pedestrians, such as sidewalks and crosswalks, constructed or altered in the public right-of-way by Federal, state and local Governments are readily accessible to and usable by pedestrians with disabilities.
