The General Services Administration (GSA) is amending the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) in its entirety to streamline and update and better reflect modern travel operations while still accounting for statutory requirements. These updates will bring more efficiency and effectiveness to Federal travel, with the ultimate goal of saving money for taxpayers. This is in complete alignment with the Deregulatory Directive from the Administration. This action includes: 1) eliminating excessive regulations, removing the bloat, and streamlining the entire FTR while preserving the statutory requirements; 2) Simplifying the travel policies and improving the experience of Federal travelers; 3) Converting the FTR from a Q&A format to a regular document format.
