This rule would amend the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) regulations to adjust the maximum civil monetary penalty the NRC can assess for violation of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, as well as the maximum civil monetary penalty the NRC can assess for false claims or statements under the Program Fraud Civil Remedies Act. These adjustments are mandated by Congress through the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, as amended by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015.
