This rulemaking would amend the NRC’s regulations to revise the nonemergency event reporting requirements for new and existing power reactors. The rule would assess the reporting requirements and guidance with the goal of retaining reporting criteria that are important to plant safety and maintain appropriate NRC awareness of nonemergency events at nuclear power plants and eliminating those that are no longer needed. This rulemaking would also address PRM-50-116. The NRC engaged with stakeholders by requesting public feedback.
