The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is amending its career and career conditional employment regulations to implement section 1111 of Pub. L. 117-263, John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. OPM is amending its regulations to reflect that the expanded eligibility criteria for any spouse married to an active-duty military member has been extended through December 31, 2028, and to remove agency reporting requirements established under Pub. L. 115-232. The intended effect of the authority is to increase hiring of military spouses in the Federal government.
