SSS will amend its Privacy Act regulation to establish procedures for individuals to access their Privacy Act records and to request amendment of information in records concerning them. The rule  provided procedures for administrative appeals and other remedies by providing for electronic access to records and updating titles.

As the SSS is improving its regulations, we seek to increase participation and engagement with members of the public affected by our regulations, including in the development of our regulatory priorities. Throughout our external engagement with the public, the SSS seeks and welcomes comments from members of the public who have not typically participated in the regulatory process, including families of males required to register and all others impacted by the SSS regulations.  

Revision and updates to our rules are also intended to streamline and make the SSS more effective and responsive.
