SSS is proposing to amend and update its regulations related to internal and external procedures, classifications and alternative service consistent with the Military Selective Service Act, 50 U.S.C. chapter 49.

As the SSS is improving its regulations, we seek to increase participation and engagement with members of the public affected by our regulations, including in the development of our regulatory priorities. Throughout our external engagement with the public, the SSS seeks and welcomes comments from members of the public who have not typically participated in the regulatory process, including families of males required to register and all others impacted by the SSS regulations.  

Revision and updates to our rules are also intended to streamline and make the SSS more effective and responsive.
