This rule will update and modernize the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) implementation of the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA) to provide greater clarity and enhance their usefulness in the modern economy. The DBA applies to Federal contracts and for the construction, alteration, or repair of public buildings or public works in excess of $2,000. The DBA requires that covered contractors and subcontractors pay their laborers and mechanics employed under the contract no less than the locally prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits as required by the applicable wage determination. This rule will implement the Department of Labor’s final rule published August 23, 2023.
