Title: Visa Waiver Pilot Program
Abstract: The Visa Waiver Pilot Program allows nationals of designated countries to apply for admission to the US at land border ports as well as at air and sea ports and to enter the US for business or pleasure for up to 90 days without first obtaining a nonimmigrant visa. ^PINS No. 1447 permits nationals of 13 additional designated countries, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, and San Marino to apply for admission for 90 days or less as nonimmigrant visitors for business or pleasure without first obtaining a nonimmigrant visa ^PINS No. 1447R amends section 217 by removing Andorra, Austria, Italy, and Monaco as countries participating in the Visa Waiver Pilot Program. This action is necessary because these countries no longer meet the criteria for continued participation in the program. ^PINS No. 1674 provided notice of the Congressional extension of the VWPP through 9-30-96. ^PINS No. 1685 extends the VWPP to nationals of Ireland and also allows nationals of designated countries whose method of arrival at port-of-entry had previously precluded them from participating in the VWPP to now participate.
