Title: Fishermen's Protective Act, Fishing Vessel and Gear Damage Compensation Fund Claims Program
Abstract: Reinstating regulations inadvertently dropped from the CFR when the Fishermen's Guaranty Fund Program was transferred to the State Department. Revisions to program procedures deriving from an Internal Control Review completed in May 1992, will be incorporated in the regulations as well as clarifications suggested by the General Counsel. These revised procedures will reduce the risk that fraudulent claims will be paid and clarify and simplify procedures for applicants in accordance with the National Performance Review.
