Title: Coal Remining | |
Abstract: These rules will enable permittee operations which encounter an unanticipated event resulting in a violation to obtain new permits. The authority for this would exist from October 24, 1992, through September 30, 2004. The rules will also shorten the period of liability for revegetation from 5 years to 2 in the east and midwest and from 10 years to 5 in the arid west for remining sites. The rules will ensure that remining sites do not lose their abandoned mine land eligibility. The rules are required to implement section 2503 of the Energy Policy Act of 1992. | |
