Title: General Guidelines for the Recommendation of Sites for Nuclear Waste Repository
Abstract: This action would implement the guidelines that will be used by the Department in deciding whether to recommend a site for the development of the geologic repository for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel. The amended guidelines will reflect statutory and policy changes that have occurred since the Nuclear Waste Policy Act was passed in 1982. The amendments will also be based on the experience the Department has gained over the last decade of investigative efforts.
