Abstract: The Marine Mammal Protection Act amendments of 1994 (Public Law 103-238) provide for the development and implementation of take reduction plans to assist in the recovery or prevent the depletion of strategic marine mammal stocks. These take reduction plans shall be developed by take reduction teams, comprised of representatives of Federal, state, and other government agencies, as well as other non-governmental organizations.
