Title: Visa Waiver Pilot Program | |
Abstract: The Visa Waiver Pilot Program allows nationals of designated countries to apply for admission to the United States at land border ports, air and sea ports and to enter the United States for business or pleasure for up to 90 days without first obtaining a nonimmigrant visa. ^PINS Rule No. 1799 will finalize all those Visa Waiver Pilot Program countries which were added through the publication of interim regulations. This rule will also incorporate those statutory changes made to section 217 of the INA by IIRIRA. | |

Additional Information: INS No. 1447-91, 1622-94, 1685-95, 1777-96, and 1782 are to be consolidated into one final rulemaking which is designated as INS No. 1799. ^PINS No. 1799 will be jointly published by INS and the Department of State. ^PINS No. 1447R is cancelled. ^PThe Czech Republic and Slovenia are awaiting country approval by the Attorney General for participation in this program. ^PThe Visa Waiver Pilot Program was extended on September 30, 1996, for one year, until September 30, 1997. | |
