Title: Prohibition Against Using Interstate Branches Primarily for Deposit Production 
Abstract: The OCC, as part of a joint agency rulemaking effort with the FRB and FDIC, is promulgating a new regulation required by section 109 of the Reigle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1994, Pub. L. 103-328, 108 Stat. 2338 (12 USC 1835a). The statute is intended to ensure that out-of-State banks do not use their new interstate branching authority primarily for the purpose of deposit production.
