HHS/FDA RIN: 0910-AA69 Publication ID: Fall 1998
Title: Reinvention of Administrative Procedures Regulations
Abstract: FDA is considering ways to further streamline its administrative procedures regulations that are outdated or otherwise in need of reform. The agency is taking this action in response to President Clinton's March 4, 1995 directive to all Federal agencies to conduct a page-by-page review of their regulations as part of the "Reinventing Government" initiative. FDA plans to reinvent approximately 45 percent of its regulations to ease the burden on regulated industry and consumers without sacrificing public health protection. For those regulations requiring Congressional permission to reinvent, the Administration will seek legislative changes.
