Title: Revision of Existing Variances and Exemptions Regulation To Comply With Requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act 
Abstract: This action will revise the existing regulations in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 1996, regarding the issuance and availability of variances and exemptions under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Mirroring the statutory language, a section specifically addressing variances for small public water systems will be added and minor codification changes will be made elsewhere in the existing rule. We anticipate that the revisions will be viewed as having beneficial impacts on small systems.
