DOT/FAA RIN: 2120-AH79 Publication ID: Spring 2004
Title: Establishment of Organization Designation Authorization Procedures
Abstract: This proposed rulemaking would create an Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Program that would incorporate all organization designee rules within 14 CFR 183. It will expand the approval functions of FAA organization designees, standardize these functions to increase efficiency, and expand eligibility for organization designees, including organizations not eligible under the current rules. These actions would provide the FAA with a more efficient process to delegate certain tasks to external organizations while preserving and increasing aviation safety.
