Title: Improving and Eliminating Regulations
Abstract: This rulemaking will revise text in the CFR to reduce burden or duplication, and to streamline requirements. We have reviewed our current regulations and identified provisions that are outdated, redundant, unnecessary, or otherwise require change. We will be making these changes through notice and comment rulemaking where necessary. We will also consider new regulations that reflect "best practices" in the mining industry. We view this effort to be evolving and ongoing and will continue to accept recommendations from the public. We published a proposed rule addressing the use of low-and medium voltage three-phase circuits in underground coal mines. The rule would allow the use of low-and medium-voltage diesel-powered electrical generators as an alternative means of powering electrical equipment.
