Title: Filipino Veterans' Benefit Improvements
Abstract: This document amends the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) adjudication regulations to reflect changes made by the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development and Independent Agencies Appropriations Act, 2001, which changed the rate of compensation payments to certain Filipino veterans residing in the U.S., and the Veterans Benefits and Health Care Improvement Act of 2000, which changed the amount of the burial benefit paid to the survivors of certain Filipino veterans who were residing in the U.S. at the time of their deaths. This also adds the provisions of the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003 to change the rate of compensation and burial benefits paid to new Filipino scouts residing in the U.S.
