Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Special Regulation for Central Idaho and Yellowstone Area Nonessential Experimental Population of Gray Wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains
Abstract: We plan to make a final determination on the proposed revision to an existing Endangered Species Act section 10(j) rule for the Central Idaho and Yellowstone area nonessential experimental population of gray wolves (Canis lupus) in the Northern Rocky Mountains. We would modify the definition of "unacceptable impacts to wild ungulate populations" and to allow citizens in States or tribal lands with approved management plans to take wolves that are in the act of attacking stock animals or dogs.
