Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Revising the Nonessential Experimental Population Rule for Sonoran Pronghorn (Antilocapra Americana Sonoriensis)
Abstract: An interdisciplinary team comprising members of the Sonoran Pronghorn Recovery Team, as well as representatives from land management agencies located in southwestern Arizona, was convened in 2008 to recommend specific areas for establishing an additional U.S. herd or herds of the highly endangered Sonoran pronghorn. Consistent with the team's recommendations and with the Sonoran Pronghorn Recovery Plan, we are proposing to establish a nonessential experimental population in King Valley, Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, in Yuma County, and the Barry M. Goldwater Range-–East, Maricopa County, in southwestern Arizona under section 10(j) of the ESA for the Sonoran pronghorn.
