Title: Wildlife and Fisheries; Boating Infrastructure Grant Program; Financial Assistance
Abstract: We are proposing to revise our regulations for the boating infrastructure grant (BIG) program that provides funds to States to construct, renovate, and maintain eligible facilities and produce and distribute information and education about the program. The changes will improve management and understanding of the program and revise for plain language standards. Eligible BIG activities include features for transient boaters in vessels at least 26 feet long. A June 2005 report titled "A Review of the BIG Program, 2000-03," published by the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council, identified 11 recommendations that the revised regulations will address.
