Title: Private Security Contractors Operating in Contingency Operations (DoDI 3020.pp) | |
Abstract: Section 862 of the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act, Public Law 110-181 and Public Law 110-417 require the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, to establish regulations with respect to private security contractors operating in a designated area of combat operations. This part prescribes the selection, accountability, training, equipping, and conduct of personnel performing private security functions under a covered contract during contingency operations. It also prescribes incident reporting, use of and accountability for equipment, rules for the use of force, and a process for the discipline or removal, as appropriate, of private security contractors. | |
