Title: Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as Amended
Abstract: The Secretary proposes to amend the title IV, HEA student assistance regulations to (1) reflect that as of July 1, 2010, pursuant to title II of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (the SAFRA Act), no new Federal Family Education Loan Program loans will be made, and (2) reflect other changes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the student loan programs, particularly with regard to the discharge of loans for person with total and permanent disabilities.
