Title: Amendment 93 to Implement Chinook Salmon Prohibited Species Catch Limits in the Gulf of Alaska Pollock Fishery
Abstract: This action limits Chinook salmon prohibited species catch (PSC) and increases monitoring in the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) pollock fishery. A 25,000 lb Chinook salmon PSC annual limit is apportioned between the GOA Central and Western Regulatory Areas, with a 18,316 lb Chinook salmon PSC limit in the Central Regulatory Area and a 6,684 lb Chinook salmon PSC limit in the Western Regulatory Area. If the PSC limit is reached in a regulatory area that pollock fishery would be close. To provide better information on the quantity and source of salmon incidentally caught in the pollock fishery, this action also would increases observer coverage on vessels less than sixty feet in length overall and require full of salmon.
