Title: Wildlife and Fisheries; Boating Infrastructure Grant Program; Financial Assistance
Abstract: We published a proposed rule for the Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) program and accepted comments. The purpose of the proposed rule was to clarify program requirements and address issues in program management that were identified in a June 2005 report, "A Review of the BIG Program, 2000-2003," by the FACA-chartered Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council. Eleven of the 22 comments we received requested an extension to the comment period. We will address comments, amend the proposed rule, and republish it, with another 60-day public comment period. The amended proposed rule will address program topics, respond to comments received, and clarify language.
