EPA/SWER RIN: 2050-AG70 Publication ID: Fall 2013
Title: Improvements to the Hazardous Waste Generator Regulatory Program (Parts 261 - 265)
Abstract: This rule would make several changes to the hazardous waste generator regulatory program to improve its clarity and effectiveness. One improvement under consideration would consolidate all of the hazardous waste generator regulations, where appropriate, in part 262 of title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Other possible improvements would modify various regulatory provisions, such as requirements for marking tanks and closing waste accumulation units by large quantity generators, as well as improve the effectiveness of the hazardous waste generator program. Finally, another change being considered involves addressing situations where a generator has either a planned or unplanned episodic event resulting in a temporary change in regulatory status.
